Trojan Records' label manager Laurence Cane-Honeysett selects, plays and talks us through some of his favourite releases from the Trojan archive.
Trojan Records was founded in 1968 as a joint venture with Island Records and was focused on releasing 7"s by a wide variety of British and Jamaican producers and artists. Skinheads embraced the whole Jamaican rude boy culture and this helped to get Trojan off to a flying start, with Dave and Ansel Collins hitting number 1 in 1969 with Double Barrel, as well as Desmond Dekker, John Holt, Ken Boothe and many others having hits too...
